Forbes magazine reveals the top 10 richest billionaires in the world for 2016. Their 30th annual list features 1,810 billionaires around the world with a total net worth of almost $6.5 trillion. This year marked the first time the average net worth of a billionaire dropped -- to $3.6 billion, down $300 million from last year. The U.S. has 540 billionaires.

Gates has secured the number one spot for three years in a row and 17 out of 22 years.

Age: 79
Net worth: $67 billion

3. Warren Buffett

Chairman and CEO, Berkshire Hathaway
Age: 85
Net worth: $60.8 billion

4. Carlos Slim Helu

Chairman and CEO, Telmex and América Móvil
Age: 76
Net worth: $50.6 billion

5. Jeff Bezos

CEO, Amazon
Age: 52
Net worth: $45.2 billion
Bezos also appeared on the top 10 list for the first time this year.

6. Mark Zuckerberg

Co-founder, chairman and CEO, Facebook
Age: 31
Net worth: $44.6 billion
Zuckerberg made the top 10 for the first time and is also the youngest of the bunch. He made the biggest gains this year, adding $11.2 billion to his fortune.

7. Larry Ellison

Net worth: $43.6 billion

8. Michael Bloomberg
